  • Cast of the Seven Godsends Redux was originally released on PC/steam, it is now on Xbox One, PS4 and mobile. As a reboot the game features updated graphics. The game itself is very easy to control, Moving with the analogue stick, A button to shoot and B button to jump. This definitely gives the game a 80’s arcade feel with the simplicity of the controls. There are checkpoints in which you can save your game at this helps with people who wish to play and jump back on later.

The range of spells is also a positive and its all random dependent on what suit of god armour you choose, Another in depth feature I found to be interesting is the elements can be more effective against certain enemies within certain worlds this will also make the player take into consideration what god armour to choose. There are over 50+ different enemies within the 6 worlds and 24 total different bosses which is considerably impressive knowing it was made by a quite small studio.

The 16 bit, Hand drawn graphics definitely fit the games feel and 80’s vibe intended by the makers, the art gallery in the game is also quite good. There are also some pretty cool easter eggs within the game, And last but not least there are different types of endings which adds to the replay-ability of the game most run ‘n guns just have the same endings but with a harder mode with more enemies but this game has all of that covered with the four different difficulties which dose vary the amount of damage per enemy and the amount there are within the levels.

Summary: Cast of the Seven Godsends Redux is a very cheap, but amazingly worth the price as you get more than it's worth with the amount of detail they have put into creating a range of enemies and bosses which all have unique attacks and ways to kill them in a fast pace. This is certainly a game I will be replaying more than a few times to see the different endings.

    • Good replay value
    • Easy to play
    • Good variety of spells
    • Good variety of enemies
    • Sounds are sometimes delayed
    • Ranged enemies can shoot from too far
