E3 2017: Halo Wars “Awakening The Nightmare” Expansion Announced

Halo Wars 2 flips things around as you play as the bad guys in their new expansion “Awakening the Nightmare”. Consisting on a brand new campaign, two new multiplayer leaders and couple of new multiplayer maps, you play through the eyes of the evil Banished as you battle The Flood.  Studio Blur, the guys behind the cut scenes in Halo 2: Anniversary, have been drafted in, to create more beautiful and iconic scenes for this expansion.

There will also be a new Multi-player horde type mode in terminus firefight. This allows teams of up to 3 players to battles waves of enemies of increasing difficultly.

“Battle against UNSC, Banished, and voracious Flood forces while fighting for survival,” reads a line from its official description. “With the ability to construct new defense measurements such as spike floors and barricades alongside classic Halo Wars gameplay features like base-building, tech trees, and Leader power usage, Terminus Firefight adds an entirely new tower defense-style twist to the beloved wave-based Halo mode.”

 

The release has been set for the Fall of 2017.
