Psyonix has announced that cross-platform play is now available in Rocket League, having joined Playstation’s cross-play beta program. Players on Xbox One, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and Steam can now matchmake with or against each other in all match types.
Cross-play is enabled by default in game, though you can change your seting by heading to:
Main Menu > Options > Gameplay tab > check/uncheck cross-platform play box
Psyonix also announced that cross-platform parties will be coming in the first update of the year enabling you to party up with the “push of a few buttons” stating they will release more info soon.
If you want to play with friends before cross-platform parties are available you can simply head to:
Main Menu > Play > Private Match > Create/Join
Psyonix finished this announcement with the following statement:
Today’s announcement is an important one for us here at Psyonix, because we know how much our community has wanted FULL cross-platform support for quite some time. It’s because of YOU, our fans, and our generous partners on all systems and services that have made this possible in the first place. On behalf of the entire team, THANK YOU for your passion and persistence as we continue to do our best to make Rocket League the best experience we can.
