Another week packed with releases, with the likes of Mothergunship the rogue-like Bullet-hell FPS, Team17’s new title Mugsters and the beat’em up Nidhogg 2. Check them out below along with the rest of the games landing on Xbox this week.
Tuesday 17th July
MOTHERGUNSHIP is a bullet-hell FPS where you craft your own guns, play together with your friends, fight gigantic bosses and defeat a robotic alien armada that conquered Earth.
Take the fight to the enemy, craft gun monstrosities that no reasonable person could ever lift, and experience randomized mayhem as you battle your way to the heart of the fleet to destroy the MOTHERGUNSHIP!
In Mugsters you have one simple mission; to rescue survivors, defeat aliens, collect crystals and SAVE THE WORLD. Okay, so maybe not so simple. Mugsters is a physics-based, action puzzle game where you must outrun, out-manoeuvre and outsmart your enemies by experimenting with different sandbox levels, vehicles, environmental traps and explosives.
The Path of Motus
Will you let other people stop you from pursuing your dreams? For generations, a village of goblins has been trapped inside a mysterious forest; anyone who attempts to leave returns hopeless and defeated. Determined to break new ground, a young goblin named Motus plans to build a series of bridges through the forest. However, his perseverance will soon be tested, as he meets bullies that use their own words to stop him. Will you find a way through life’s forest, or like others be lost in its depths with no will to continue?
Tempest 4000 is a visually stunning, action-packed tube shooter based on the classic hit arcade game, Tempest. Developed by legendary game designer, Jeff Minter, Tempest 4000 remains faithful to the original fast-paced gameplay by putting you in control of the Claw, a powerful spacecraft equipped to destroy deadly creatures and other obstructions with rapid-fire shots on vibrant geometric prisms. Featuring fantastical graphical environments, 100 levels, three game modes, and more, you must eliminate all enemies as fast as possible to survive and compete for the highest score on the leaderboards.
Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion
Ahoy! The Land of Ooo is underwater and it’s up to Finn and Jake to find out why. Join our heroes as they explore the high seas, search for hidden clues, interrogate shady suspects and fight pirates to solve the mystery and save their waterlogged world!
Wednesday 18th July
You are the Mooseman and you have the ability to see all that is hidden to the mortal eye. You are about to visit three layers of this universe – the first one is the Lower World where the spirits of the dead reside. Welcome to the mysterious world of ancient myth, based on finno-ugric culture of bygone pagan times.
The Long Reach
The Long Reach is an adventure game filled with colorful characters, puzzles, and a shock of discovery. Wait, weren’t we supposed to say, “joy of discovery”? That can’t be right. The Long Reach takes place in New Hampshire, in the fictional town of Baervox. The game draws its inspiration from Lone Survivor and The Cave and all the classical adventures (except that The Long Reach is set in the present day). You don’t play in a post-apocalyptic world or explore a fairy-filled fantasy world. You’re in the thick of it, just around the corner from the place where you buy your groceries.
The wurm has returned and it must feed! Shed your garments and paint the walls with the flesh of your enemies, for only one can be worthy of sacrifice.
The rules are simple. Reach the other side and kill anyone that stands in your way. Deftly parry and rend their throats, riddle their bowels with arrows, or squish their brains between your toes. The wurm cares not for chivalry.
